PE shrink film is widely used for bottled water, beverages, cartons and industrial packaging. When the film matches the product and machine correctly, it provides tight wrapping, strong holding force and stable transport protection.
Some buyers may face wrinkles, tearing or poor sealing during production. These problems can affect pack appearance, reduce transport safety and increase material waste.
Wrinkles after shrinking may be caused by low or uneven tunnel temperature, fast conveyor speed, unsuitable film width, excessive thickness, unstable film tension, unbalanced airflow or irregular pack shape.
To improve wrinkles, check tunnel temperature and conveyor speed first. Then confirm film width and thickness. Excessive material can wrinkle, while a film that is too narrow may create uneven tension.
Film tearing can happen during sealing, shrinking, loading or transport. Common causes include film that is too thin, weak puncture resistance, high sealing temperature, sharp product edges, excessive tension, pallet pressure or rough handling.
If tearing appears at corners or stress points, review film thickness and formulation. If tearing appears near the seal, check sealing temperature, time and pressure to avoid burning or incomplete sealing.
Poor sealing means the film does not close firmly and may split during shrinking or transport. Causes include wrong sealing temperature, short sealing time, uneven pressure, dust, moisture, oil or worn sealing wires and blades.
Before bulk production, test the film under real packaging conditions. Provide product type, pack size, pack weight, film width and thickness, machine type, tunnel temperature, packing speed and transport conditions.
